    I don't understand why the spool position would matter. The line turns 90 degrees from the rod to the reel. Whatever position the spool is in, the line can only come off the way it's wound. One suggestion that might help prevent twist is to put a swivel on the secured end of the line then wind your reel slowly so that the line has time to remove any twists.

    • @FishingwithNat
      @FishingwithNat 3 дня назад

      You can find some good deals if you buy used. It's fairly easy to find basic used kayaks around because they are so popular, but if you're looking for more specialized, high-end kayaks like the Sportsman PDLs or Hobie ProAnglers, you'll have a hard time finding those. There are some kayak fishing groups on Facebook where you can often find those for sale. To buy them new, you'll have to look for large sporting goods stores or paddling stores, usually in bigger cities. You can also find them online but shipping is very expensive. Basic kayaks can be bought new at most sporting goods stores.

    I tie a double uni. But i notice on certain rods with really small top rings at the top.. that it bumps on the cast and i lose some distance bc of that. Which sucks bc they're easy af and ik them so well i can tie em fast and in low light. But i think it's time i learn something new and this is going to be what i try next. It's really a bummer when i cast i can tell I'm going to get some good distance and i feel the double uni bump at the top and then all the momentum in the lure dies and it just falls out of the sky.
